DECK5 is a homegrown construction company from Cumming, Georgia that specializes in Deck Building.

Our deck building method is a trade secret passed down through 4 generations. Each generation bettering the last and surpassing our competition. As American tradesmen we find fulfillment in the highest quality finished products for our customers, and that is why we use #1 Prime Southern Pine for our framing.

Construction framing materials in Georgia are broken down into two main grades: #1 and #2. Both are adequate for building, but #1 surpasses the latter in strength and aesthetic. Decks, being exposed timbre frames- we believe ‘overbuilding' the structure is well worth it (residential decks require 40 psf, but we rarely build below 60'psf). Southern Pine is ubiquitous in Georgia, but many contractors choose #2 grade to save money.

Our decks last for 20 years and we stand by our choice of #1 Prime Southern Pine as our preferred building material. As technology and building codes improve- so do we. We use Simpson Strong-Tie hangers, TimberLOK screws, galvanized carriage bolts and Interchange Pro nails for all our decks.
